Q. Why is it traditional for the Brides parents to send the invitations?

It is traditional for the person(s) that are hosting (read paying) for the wedding to send the invitations. Traditionally this would be the Brides parents but as I am writing this we are in 2016 and invariably this is not the case. We find most invitations are now from the couple getting married.

Q. Whos name should come first, the bride of the grooms?

It is tradition that the brides name should come before the grooms on wedding invitations but again please see above!

Q. What about wording for same sex couples?

This is the same as the examples above only replacing daughter/ son and his / her where grammatically it should be.

Q. Do we need to use our full names?

This depends on how formal you want the invitations to be. These set the scene for your day so decide if you want the day to be a formal do or a relaxed affair and do what you feel most comfortable with.

Q. Do we need to add an RSVP to address and by date?

No, but this will help in ensuring you get all of your replies and don’t have many to chase closer to the time. When inviting a lot of people this is really important however if you are having a small intimate do it may not be necessary.

Q. Can we choose our own wording?

Yes, you can have whatever wording you like. All of our items are proofed via email prior to printing so you can ensure if looks just as you want it to before going to print.

Q. When should we send out our invitations?

Traditionally 3-6 months before the date of your wedding however we like to take into consideration the size of the wedding (is it just a formality and really the 20 guests coming already know about it), have save the dates been sent out and will people need more notice (such as to book flights etc to weddings abroad).
